Free Weight

It's natural to feel frightened or intimidated when you walk into a gym for the first time, es-pecially when you see the equipment and weights in one corner and others just like you working hard to get that perfectly healthy and fit figure. But always remember that the people you see when you walk in had to start somewhere, so take a moment to take it all in before stepping in to transform.

Free weights are the weights that you can pick up and move around, such as dumbbells, barbells, medicine balls, sandbags, tires, and kettlebells. In other terms, "free weights" are weights used in weightlifting that are not attached to other equipment. You're resisting gravity on the object you're holding in your hand.

Free weights offer a variety of versatility in the workout and can fit almost anywhere. Free weights force you to use your core muscles for stabilization with every move you make, and stabilizing your core is essential for various reasons, including that it makes your body more toned, and helps you achieve better balance and stronger functional movement.

The professionals have always guided people who are determined to make that change in their lifestyle to follow these simple rules, which are going to help in maximizing their training and eventually show satisfactory results. Starting with simply setting a goal, followed by a schedule, focusing on the form while you workout, and lastly, challenging oneself is very important. Don’t let your body get comfortable with weights; keep the challenge going. Good form helps prevent injury and ensures long-term training success. Moving incorrectly can result in injury as well as muscular and movement imbalances, which can lead to postural problems in the future.

The CDC recommends incorporating two days of free weight training with weight training to add resistance and build stronger muscles. Here are a few exercises that you can perform with free weights:
